Brunswick County, North Carolina builder Mark Saunders partnered with the Coastal Land Trust in the Host of the Coast program beginning in late 2017 and continuing. For decades a company headed by builder Mark Saunders, Coastal Vacation Resorts, has helped families from all over return year after year to the islands of Holden Beach, North Carolina and Oak Island, North Carolina. Both of these islands have held on to the traditions that make vacationing in Brunswick County remarkable experiences that are cherished. Coastal Vacation Resorts is able to arrange a variety of vacation getaways, from a week of solace in an oceanfront cottage to a weekend of excitement at an exclusive golf resort like Ocean Ridge Plantation.
Host of the Coast is a voluntary giving program in which inns, hotels and rental agencies partner with the Coastal Land Trust to help protect the special places by the coast both community residents and visitors love. Participating lodging establishments invite guests to make a small voluntary contribution ($1 added to their nightly bill) to the Coastal Land Trust.
During the past fiscal year (October 2017 – October 2018) the companies managed by builder Mark Saunders has donated over $20,000 to the Coastal Land Trust and has been far the most successful corporate supporter to date of the Host of the Coast program.
